    anywhere/anything between

The various newspapers reported the bride as being anywhere between 30 and 70 minutes late...

Could we change 'anywhere' to 'anything' without changing the meaning of the sentence? And is it still a good sentence?
    Thank you in advance.

    Re: anywhere/anything between

You can and it won't change the sense, but the normal collocation is "anywhere between".

I would only change it to "something between". Anything between sounds odd but as Anglika said it would work.

To me, 'anything between' sounds wrong. I would say 'anywhere between'. Alternatively, you could say, 'anywhere from ___ to ____.'
    Anywhere between ___ and ___.
