    What do these sentences mean?

I find it difficult to understand the following sentences. Please help, thx.

'You fell asleep doing the job. I'm not trying to attack you, Sam, but when you said I am a bad leader, if I have another opportunity to become a leader and it's a little bit earlier than when we're crunched for time, I would have taken this home, no doub in my mind.'

'I gave him a crash course in public speaking.'

Are these by any chance from "The Apprentice"?

The first looks like a transcription of someone speaking under pressure and with emotion, and without full context is pretty meaningless.

The second means that someone was trained very rapidly [given a crash course] to speak in public.
