    "polluted" phonology

    Please help, I need the explain the phonology of the adj "polluted". I'd nedd to help student with problem vowels, etc.

    I AM NOT A TEACHER BUT HOPE THIS MAY HELP YOU.
    Polluted :-

    Pronunciation.:- the first sound comes as 'pau' as in pause or in posh, the second sound 'Leu' as in Lucent or Student or As in Reputed , and the third sound as in Ed as in bed .....

    Combination of three sounds


    Pau + Leu + Ted = polluted

    The second syllable -lluted is stressed, so the vowel in the first syllable po- becomes schwa.

    pə'luːtɪd
