    Future tenses

    Hi, everyone.

    Have this dialogue:

Max: Im leaving for London tomorrow.
Sam: Are you? Who ____________ (go with)?
Max: Only my children. Kathrin _______________ (stay) at home. She ___________ (decorate) the flat.
Sam: I see. How long ___________ you (stay) there?
Max: Just for the weekend. I need to be back by Sunday night.
Sam: By the way, what ____________ you (do) in London?
Max: We ___________ (see) some sights and visit a friend of mine.
Sam: When __________ you (come) home?
Max: I guess at about 8, maybe a bit earlier.

Will a good soul take some time and complete this piece of drama?

    Thanks a lot.

    W

Max: I'm leaving for London tomorrow.
Sam: Are you? Who are you going with?
Max: Only my children. Kathrin is staying at home. She'll be decorating the flat.
Sam: I see. How long will you be staying in London?
Max: Just for the weekend. I need to be back by Sunday night.
Sam: By the way, what are you going to do in London?
Max: We'll see some sights and visit a friend of mine.
Sam: What time will you be coming home Sunday night?
Max: I guess at about 8, maybe a bit earlier.

    or

Max: I'm leaving for London tomorrow.
Sam: Are you? Who are you going with?

Max: Only my children. Kathrin is staying at home. She'll be decorating the flat.
Max: Only my children. Kathrin is staying at home. She's decorating the flat./ She's in the middle of decorating the flat.

Sam: I see. How long will you be staying in London?
Sam: I see. How long will you be staying (there)?

Max: Just for the weekend. I need to be back by Sunday night.
Sam: By the way, what are you going to do in London?
This is an incorrect use. You are not introducing some other topic - the whole conversation is about the trip to London.

Max: We'll see a few sights and visit a friend of mine.

Sam: When __________ you (come) home?

Max said above, he'll be back Sunday night, so the only other thing to ask is, at what time Sunday night.
Sam: What time will you be coming home Sunday night?
Max: I guess at about 8, maybe a bit earlier.

Max: Only my children. Kathrin is staying at home. She'll be decorating the flat. How about She will decorate the flat meaning She wants to decorate... or she is going to decorate... meaning she intends to ... Are they possible?

Sam: I see. How long will you be staying in London? How about How long will you stay meaning do you want to...? Would it change the meaning? And can we use going to here, too?

Max: Just for the weekend. I need to be back by Sunday night.

Sam: By the way, what are you going to do in London?

Max: We'll see some sights and visit a friend of mine. Why not We're going to see...as in the question above (plans, intentions)?

Sam: What time will you be coming home Sunday night? What time will you come/are you going to come home? Can we use them here, too?

Max: I guess at about 8, maybe a bit earlier.

MOre possibilities then with a little difference in meaning?

She will decorate... Is its meaning closer to prediction or volition (She wants to...)?

    Neither. Simple future.
