have no problem to do sth

Then we have no problem to talk about the details and reach a conclusion.

This sentence comes from the CAE. Is it a correct sentence? Should we change it into 'Then we have no problem talking about the details and reach a conclusion'?

Could I ask native English teachers to help me please? Thank you in advance.

    Dear 2006,
Are you saying 'yes' to 'Is it correct English' or 'Should we change it into...'?

    Thank you again.

Both are correct. No change is required.

I think that you should go with 2006's explanation, the second (modified by 2006) sentence is the best one.

    Yes, it should be changed.

Re: have no problem to do sth

But if you change "talking about" you really must change it to "reaching" -- and the exam doesn't seem to want to allow that!

I find correcting that a puzzle.

I suppose you mean that an exam usually allows students to correct only one place in the question sentence? But Joham's question focuses on whether it is correct when people use the " have no problem to do" form.

My support goes to 2006 in that using V-to do form here sounds something strange, if any. (IMHO)

    Yes, exactly.

We have no problem to talk -- sound very odd.
But: We have no problem talking about... -- requires changing "to reach" to "reaching"

    What about completely changing it:

We have no alternative but to talk ...
