    much more or many more.

.---Did he pick a lot of apples?
---Yes. He picked ____than any of us.
    A. much more B.many more
    The given answer is A.

I thought B is better. And I doubt if native speakers will say such things. Would 'far more' sound better?

    Thanks in advance.

much more - viewed as a mass of apples collected

many more - viewed as a counted number

A sounds more natural to me too. Perhaps if the wording, the focus was changed, b would sound "better".

He picked many more apples than I did.

Hmmmmm, 'way more' sounds most natural.

'far/way more' would work too. They sounds more neutral, ie. not either mass or number oriented.
