    for vs. within

    Consumers were yesterday warned to expect even sharper increases in global food prices after US officials said that some of the country’s best farmland is facing its worst flooding for 15 years.

    Hi! Can I replace "for" with "within"? What is the difference between these two prepositions here?

    In this context 'for' means 'since' whereas 'within' means 'during', so no, they are not interchangeable here.
