    Post Confussed :s

    Hii all,

I`m confussed about how my letter should look like
I mean I have written an leave letter and I will hand this over
to my boss. Now my question is should it be like a formal letter with
the adresses or I can do it without?

Thank you so much in advance =)

Do you mean a letter of notice?

One which is produced when you are leaving or quitting a job?

If so, I don't think it has to be a formal letter. It just needs to clearly state that you are leaving, giving the date when you will finish, and ending with something polite.

    Here's an example I found.

Thank you colloquium but ... wait I copy my letter.

    Dear Sir,

This letter is a request for a month's vacation from 24 July 2008 to 24 August 2008 as I will
be having a Reception Party and would like to enjoy this special occasion with my family and friends.

Thank you for considering my request.

    Sincerely yours,

Is it alright if I hand over the letter like this..or it has to be formal?

    Re: Confussed :s

    Oh, I see.

The companies I have worked for always had leave forms.

I really don't think a formal letter is necessary for something so routine.

The letter you have written sounds fine.

But why are you addressing your boss as "Dear Sir"? Surely you address it to Dear Mr xxxx?
