    affection

Affection is an emotion so it's uncountable . why is it pluralized?

16 men and 16 women will compete for Tequila's affections

affection is both countable and uncountable

as an uncountable noun, it means a feeling of liking for a person or place
He had a deep affection for his aunt.

if used in the plural, it usually stands for feelings of liking or love

Emily seems to have transferred her affections from Ron to his brother.

    hope this helps.
