    Any changes necessary?

People say the Japanese tend to be exclusive. This may be attributed partly to the closed-door policy of the Edo era. What is unique about their exclusiveness is their selective nature; they adopt foreign things, but not foreign people. The Japanese should become more internationally-minded by accepting more people from abroad and making more cultural, educational, and business exchanges. Otherwise, they will end up being isolated in many respects.

    Are any modifications necessary?

Apart from removing the hyphen after "internationally", no - it is fine.
