    I suppose it's OK to say: How's the day going? Can I also say: How's the Sunday going?

    Days don't normally take articles.

    If you are asking someone how their day is going - you don't need to specify the day, it would be obvious at the time of speaking.

    Using, for instance, the past tense - it would make sense to refer to the day specifically.

    "How did sunday go?"

    However, the article "the" is (as mentioned above) not needed.

    I don't see anything wrong in saying "How's the day going?/How's is the Sunday going?. However, I think, it would be better to say "How's your day/Sunday going?"
