    so angry

    Hi,
“The spectators got so angry that they had to cancel the football match.”
I placed “so angry” and “such angry” at the beginning of the sentence. Please tell me if they are correct?
1.So angry got the spectators that they had to cancel the football match.
2.Such angry spectators they were that they had to cancel the football match.
    Thank you.

    Re: so angry

“The spectators got so angry that they had to cancel the football match.”

    1. So angry got the spectators that they had to cancel the football match.

    2. Such angry spectators they were that they had to cancel the football match.
    Try,
    1. So angry were the spectators that they had to canel the football match.

Note, such modifies adjective + noun; e.g., such angry spectators.

Is the second sentence like this:
    2. Such angry spectators were they that they had to cancel the football match.
    3. Such angry spectators that they had to cancel the football match.
    Thanks.

    Try also,
    3. Such angry spectators that they were
(that) they had to cancel the football match.
    But it's rather wordy.

    Re: so angry

    Do you mean:
"Such angry spectators that they were (that) they had to cancel the football match."

I have another sentence. Could you tell me if it is correct?

"Such were angry spectators that they had to cancel the football"?

    Thanks.

It depends on the meaning you want to express. As is, the grammar is fine. It's correct.

Could you tell me why you added "that" between "spectators" and "they" while the second 'that' was optional?

    Thanks.
