Use of "both" followed by adjectives

    Hi guys,

I would like to know which sentence is correct:

"the change in both the real and imaginary part has been discussed"

"the change in both the real and imaginary parts has been discussed"

consider that there are two parts: an imaginary part and a real part ...

    thanks in advance

    Pat
