    What is the difference between "for" and "to"

    A bat is used for hitting the baseball
    A bat is used to hit the baseball

    Money is used for buying food
    Money is used to buy food

    Sometimes they are not interchangeable:
    These are spectacles for reading.
    I don't think it's possible to say 'These are spectacles to read.'
