    Cool Are they ghosts???

    Hi,

There is something I don't understand in following passage:

'Hezbollah has agreed to a swap with Israel involving prisoners both alive and dead, leader Hassan Nasrallah says.'

(from CNN.com - Breaking News, U.S., World, Weather, Entertainment & Video News today)

You can't be alive and dead at the same time, can you?

    Re: Are they ghosts???

No - it means the prisoners who are still alive and the prisoners who died after capture.

[However, if you have drunk far too much, you may well feel dead and alive at the same time!]

Thank you. It was the word 'both' that I found strange. Both may suggest that they are only two prisoners.
