    miracle baby

    someone told me i was a "miracle baby". when i told him i didn't know what it meant he just said i should google it, but google gives me no useable answer.. please help!

    Two possible meanings are likely:

    One is your parents had trouble trying to conceive and things worked out in the end. The other is that you were very ill or your mum had other problems that could have meant you died.

    Either way you are here today and people are happy about the "miracle".

    Either way, it's a lamentable misuse of "miracle" which used to mean more than simply a surprisingly good outcome against tough odds. Now you can hear about two or three new miracles every night on the local news.
