    sentence stucture

    I need help with sentence stucture please. Which is the correct way to write this sentence? The winner is her, him, he, them?

    With linking verbs "is" is like an equals sign, so if you're dealing with traditional grammar,

    Ex: She is the winner; she = the winner; The winner = she; The winner is she.

    If you're dealing with how the average person on the street speaks, however, then you will find that many speakers use 'her' in such constructions,

    Ex: The winner is her.


    Ex: The winner is she who ...
