    meaning

I need the meaning of the red parts.
So, how does it feel to be twenty-one?
Kind of strange. I feel I'm not getting ahead fast enough.
But haven't you achieved quite a bit already?
you're right. But I still haven't decided on a career.
Well, what do you hope you'll have achieved by, let's say, thirty?
For one thing, I hope I'll have seen more of the world.
    Thanks

To my understanding, "for one thing" is used to give one reason for something. And sometimes we can use "For one thing, .... For another,...." to list two reasons for a certain viewpoint, etc, which are closely related. In that situation, we can use "Firstly,.... Secondly,..." to replace them without changing the meanings of the two sentences.
