    i want to know

    i told someone"election is near" he said i am wrong using that sentence, he then said"the election is getting closer"please tell me if i am wrong in my usage .

    Assuming you said "The election is near", you're not wrong. The other person simply prefers a different style. Whenever someone tells you that you're wrong, ask them why. (That would help us too! )
