    questions galore1: who will answer:P

SET 1: a) please answer to my questions.
    b) please answer my questions.

SET2: a) our govt. gives highest priority to farmers
    b) our govt. gives the highest priority to farmers -- i feel this is correct as the needs to be there before superlative..

SET3: a) If Chris and Jad met, they discussed mathematics..
    b) If Chris and Jad had met, they discussed mathematics... what is wrong with this? they met before discussing right??

please explain the differences in choices of each set. why is the particular one either correcct or wrong? thank you

    SET 3)
'If Jed and Chris had met' means that they did not meet.
This sentence is better suited to the 3rd conditional:
'If Chris and Jed had met, they would have discussed mathematics.'

'If Jed and Chris met, they discussed mathematics.' Means we do not know if they met, but if they did, we're sure they talked about mathematics

'When Chris and Jed met, they discussed mathematics'. means they DID meet and they DID discuss mathematics.
