    Some questions need resolving

    1) We say: science books or scientific books?
2)We have open door policy, do we have closed door policy as well?
3)What are the differences between gravel and pebble and shingle?

A science book is a book about science. A scientific uses science in the way that it's written. i.e. it's scientific in its approach.

a pebble is a loose rock like gravel but it is bigger. Cobbles are even bigger. Shingles is used to refer to all three types which might be found together on a beach.

No, if you have an open door policy, you can't also have a closed door policy.

An "open door policy" (in a very general sense) is where people can come and go as they like, freely, for example in a public gardens.
A "closed door policy" is where an invitation is necessary, or special conditions must be met before you can get in.

The terms are often used in international politics, so if two countries have a free trade agreement, there are no obstacles for companies who want to trade between those countries; and hence there is an "open door policy".
