    Date matters

    1. In a sentence or paragraph wherein there is a date involve, what should be the order date or the day? for example......14 July 2008, Sunday

    2. What do you mean by "unchartered waters"? It is commonly used but it is not included in the idioms or dictionary.

    Thanks....

    1. There are numerous formats for dates. The traditional BrE version goes: Today is Sunday, 14th July, 2008.

    2. The term is "uncharted waters". No-one has made a chart of those parts, so they're uncharted. So the term means (often figuratively) going somewhere where no-one has been before, or which is relatively unknown.
