    which one is right

    many people usually use 'rather then' but i dont think it's a correct one to use it is 'rather than' - let me know which one is right?

    I'm not a teacher but just a student.

    I would use "rather than" because one uses "than" in comparative statements whereas "then " is used as a time maker or with a sequence of events.

    Here's a quick trick: rather ends in -er, so -er + than; e.g., bigger than, smaller than, rather than, etc.
