    Writing the date - UK rules

    please could you clarify whether the correct way to write the date in UK grammar is 20th July, 2008 or 20 July 2008?

    Both forms are accepted. Using 20th is more formal. No comma between month and year is the norm:

    23rd July 2008
    23 July 2008
