    Broken-veined

Can somebody explain to me what 'a broken-veined world' might mean?

    Welcome to the forums.

It would be good to have the context in which you found this. However, without context, broken veins are the result of a weakness in the body, so I would interpret this as meaning that the world is suffering from a weakness of some kind. What is meant by "world" is open to debate.

And in a more specific context it might be referring to the veins as the first stage of a life-supporting recycling mechanism, as the veins carry the used blood back to the heart to be re-used. So the 'world' in your quote might be a world in which the rivers had silted up.
