prepare to / for? and one more question:)

Can I say 'prepare TO or only prepare FOR? For example is "prepare sb to CAE" a glaring mistake? What about:Our new teacher is very polite or so Anna says/claims. Is this sentence ok?

Re: prepare to / for? and one more question:)

If I say, you can use both, this will mislead you. Look at these two sentences:

I must prepare for my exams.

    compare
I am prepared to listen to all ideas.
    or
    Prepare to meet your doom!

Yes, I have written the words 'prepare for' in one sentence, and the words 'prepare/d to' in the others. Can you see some crucial difference though?

    Let's take the lead, then.
    Prepare to + a verb.
    Prepare for +a noun
    Correct, David?

    prepare + for(=preposition) + noun

prepare +infinitive : to listen, to meet, to go
