    will have you know

    Hi,
"I will have you know I'm a qualified accountant."
Does "will have you know" mean "will ask you to know"?
    Thanks.

Simply stated, "I want you to know I am a qualified accountant."

    Cheers,

Does "will have you know" mean "will ask you to know"? It's not asking you to know'; it's an emphatic way of telling you
The meaning is that I am telling you and want you to always remember that I'm a qualified accouintant.
    Thanks.
