Let's relax and correct my errors( 5/8~Chinese slogans)

To China, many people go to a distant place by train, so the safety in the railway station is very important.

"Smoking equals starting a fire, and starting a fire is a crime."
Really, is it a crime to start a fire in China?

Here, incendiarism or fire-raising or setting fire ,may be better than starting a fire, I think.

    Right am I?

    "Am I right?"
Setting fire to something in order to destroy someone's things is called arson.
"Smoking means setting fire to something, and arson is a crime!"
    This works in English.

dodonaomik, lighting a cigarette and setting/starting a fire do not express the same thing; moreover, smoking (a cigarette) is not arson.

    What about?
It's considered a crime in China, as well as in most places in the world,
to set paper on fire in a public place--except, that is, for cigarette paper.

I'm pretty sure he's trying to make a polemical point against smoking, Soup.
Don't you think? (Or are you making the reverse polemical point?)

True; however, perhaps your level of English is the problem here. We are, after all, sharing opinions, right?

放火 fng huǒ to set on fire / arson

Actually, setting something on fire and arson are the same word in Chinese.
That should be arson in the slogan which is meant to give warning about the potential hazard of smoking.

    not a teacher

True, but it doesn't translate as such in English.

    This is very good,
and I think the following may be right too!
