    Which is more common after neither and none- plural or singular?

    Neither of my ex-boyfriends was/or were really rich?
    None of my friends has a car or none of my friends have a car?

    In both cases the general rule is:

    Plural verb: informal.

    Singular verb:

    I would say the plural verb is more common.

    I'm not a teacher.
