. A verb has four forms and three tenses. The four forms are (i) Infinite or base or dictionary form (ii) past (iii) present participle or “ing” form and (iv) past participle.
The past particle form of regular verbs is formed by adding 'ed' to the base form. Example: walk - walked But in respect of irregular verbs the form varies from verb to verb Examples: go - gone, buy - bought
The past particle form is used to make statements in perfect tenses with helping verb has/have/had . It is also used as an adjective.
