We are very well rested.
Please, what's the meaning of this sentence?
Does it mean, we pay a lot of attention to our rest and get rest regularly?
or it means, we have gotten enough rest for the time being?
Thanks for the reply!
When we say well-fed, it means regularly eating plenty of good healthy food, especially if this has made you a little fat.
Well-rested or well rested, could not have the meaning in the same way?
regularly getting rest?
Here's an example:
"I haven't slept at all these past couple weeks, but today for some reason I feel well-rested."
So you see, being well-rested is not the same as getting regular sleep.
Generally, well-fed means you are eating well regularly, but it could also be used as follows:
"I haven't been eating well recently, but thanks to the buffet today I was well-fed."
A homeless man can be well-fed one day and be straving for weeks on end after that.
