I'd like to ask what "are met" means in the following context:
The same can be said of attempts to survey
or categorize the types and variety of forms that make up the orb
phenomenon. With each week that passes, new varieties and new
phenomena appear. The orbs associated with other levels of reality
beyond this one seem to engage in different functions and also seem
to show different energetic levels, which probably accounts for the
colors they exhibit. Beside color and size variations many other forms
are met as well; the ones I have encountered are outlined below.
I understand that "met" is the past participle of "meet" but as for the meaning I'm not sure. Does "are met" mean "are described"?
