    Castrate and emasculate

    Dear Teachers,

What's the difference between Castrate and emasculate? I know they both mean :to cut genitals

But there must be some difference between them, what's that?

castrate does mean surgical removal of genitals, but emasculate means to make a man less of a man by other ways - could be psychological, some kind of deprivation, but not a physical injury
