    My teacher hasnīt explained it, yet. Is it grammatically right to use this instead of it in sentences like this?

    Yes. This or that are both possible; it depends on the context.

    However I don't think you need the comma before yet.

    Suppose it is a sum.
    You are holding a book and you are saying to your friend:
    My teacher hasn’t explained this sum yet.
    My teacher hasn’t explained this yet.
    A second later, you are saying to your friend again:
    My teacher hasn’t explained it yet.
    It depends on situation.
