    high x expensive

    This shirt is expensive.
    The price is high.
Is it right to say the price of this shirt is expensive? Is it a mistake that even natives make? In Portuguese itīs common to make this kind of mistake...

In my country I am hearing the above sentence.
"This shirt is expensive" is right. I think "the price of this shirt is high" is right also.
Only native speakers can say which is the best.
"the price of this shirt is expensive" is not real/natural English, and it is a regional English.
    Let me ask:
Which sounds right to a native speaker?
    Thank you in advance.

You normally wouldn't write it. But in speech, you often begin a sentence before you know how you're going to finish it. So, yes, it's a "mistake" that even natives make.
    Similar "mistakes" are:
"The weight of this box is heavy."
"The length of the movie was too long."
    "His height is really tall!"
