    What does this mean?

    Hello!
I've come across this phrase on the internet. I'm not sure what it means, though. Could you please explain it to me? If possible, please give some examples in which the phrase is used. Thank you.

    Re: What does this mean?

    the lost and found box/room

A lost and found room/box is a place where lost items are taken (by whoever found the item). The item is then stored in the hope that the owner will eventually retrieve the misplaced item.

    e.g.

    A) I cannot find my coat anywhere.

    B) Have you checked the lost and found room? Someone may have taken it there.

    I am not a teacher.

It could also be a reference to the lost and found sheep in scripture - metaphor for those people who have strayed from the path of righteousness, but have returned to it.
