    question with ing clause

We are looking at a photo. In the photo, there is someone holding a pan. I want to ask:
'Is the person holding the pan John?'
(The person or the people I am talking to know John.)

Would it be natural to say:

1-Is that John holding the pan?
2-Is that John who is holding the pan?

    Both are fine.
