    Correct sentence usage

    Hello,

    Pls suggest which of the following is correct while speaking + writing

    1. I will talk to them
    2. I will talk with them

    Also need the reason in detail.

    You may want to use 'talk to someone'. 'Talk to' is used more often than 'talk with'.

    These structures are usually interchangeable:
    e.g.
    He talked to/with me for only a few seconds.

    There may be sometimes semantic distinctions:
    'Talk to' sounds a bit more one-sided than 'talk with', which may imply more action and reaction.
    e.g.
    I talked to Steve about my plans. (It's like the speaker is talking; the other person listens. - somewhat one-sided)
    I talked with my class about the meaning of life. (It's like they are exchanging ideas. - like a two-way process)

    I should talk to him (about what he did).
    I should talk with him about our holidays.

    This is about the theory, in practice however, do not worry too much about these combinations as they are interchangeable. I learned these from banderas and David L. Hope they help.
