    Smile Not the can =?

    Scenario

A bad schoolboy was hitting another one, who said, "Oh, no, boys. Not the can, please."

    Question:

Not the can = don't hit me? Is it slang?

    Thanks!

PS: I just found a close term "can it" in my dictionary.

    Re: Not the can =?

What's the context, a comic? And where was the boy being hit?

    Hi Soup,

Haven't 'seen' you here for a coup of days. Glad you're back.

Here' the context which is about The Simpsons. Thanks!

Around the school building. Bart runs around when he suddenly skids to a stop.

    BART: Whoa!

    NELSON: Put 'em up!

Bart picks up a glob of mud and throws it into Nelson's face.

    BART: Ha! Ohh.

He punches Nelson. Nelson slowly wipes the mud from his face.

Homer appears near Bart's ear (Bart is remembering the conversation).

HOMER: Remember the family jewels, son.

Bart tries to punch Nelson but Nelson holds him back. Homer appears again.

HOMER: (not knowing what to do) Hmm?

Bart is punched several times. Homer groans with each hit.

BART (Off Screen): Oh, no boys, not the can. Please.

    There is a crashing sound.

    Hmm. I'll have to guess.

    Literal meaning: a trash can
    Slang: toilet

    Re: Not the can =?

He may have been dumped into a trash can

    or
the "can" is also a slang word for rear end (buttocks)
He may have been kicked in the can.

    Soup & Susiedqq,

    Thank you for your answers.

Soup: It's a small fry. Needn't to think it over for me especially.
