    impetuous / headlong

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to explain to me the distinction between "impetuous" and "headlong"?

    Thank you for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V.

    Re: impetuous / headlong

Onw of these really subtle distinctions.

Someone who is impetuous does something without considering the consequences.

Someone who does things in a headlong way is doing them in a rush.

And "headstrong" is a person who does things only the way he wants to.
