    paraphrase of words and word combination 10

    Dear teachers,

    Would you be kind enough to revise my paraphrasing of the bolded words and word combinations from the following sentences?

    1.1. Our plans are taking shape.
    1.2. Our plans are materializing.

    2.1. My heart warmed up to him.
    2.2. I took a liking to him.

    3.1. Everything went without a hitch.
    3.2. Everything went smoothly.

    4.1. We’ve run out of shugar. I shall have to run round to the grocer’s.
    4.2. We’ve run short of sugar. I shall have to run round to the grocer’s

    5.1. Things were going from bad to worse.
    5.2. Things were getting worse and worse.

    6.1. The huge plant was outlined agaist the sky.
    6.2. The huge plant was silhouetted against the sky.
