    Work As An

    Dear friends and Teachers,

    A. The footballers of Chelsea had been at each other's throats many times before Alex Ferguson came to work as a football coach.

    - Is this sentence grammatical?

    Thanks a million!

As native speaker, I can say it seems fine to me except for the bit I've put in bold.

Footballers and throats are plural nouns so we need the ' after the s.

So grammar fine, but football knowledge hopeless - Ferguson is the manager of Manchester United!

    Re: Work As An

Sorry - it is EACH member's throat. So it is other's.

Surely, then, it should be "at each other's throat. (Unless each one has more than one throat!)

Perhaps a moderator could advise us on this.

    Exclamation Re: Work As An

You will never come to any agreement on this, I'm afraid to say.
Grammarians all around the world are at loggerheads about this.

    Thanks for that, engee30.

Does that mean we can generally use either?

I wish I could give you a straight answer to that, buggles.
According to my grammar, it goes like this:

[...] The group read each others letters.

Either other’s, others’ or each others could be
defended. In the first there are multiple participants
in "the group", despite the singularity of "each"
Style guides take their cue from each to argue that the singular possessive form
(other’s) is the only one possible. But this seems a
little awkward when the noun following is plural
(letters) and the wording implies more than a single
    exchange.
The formal grammar of words and the
notional grammar of the underlying semantics are at
    loggerheads. [...]
