    "employ-deploy mission"

    Hello,

I came across the following sentence while reading about the B-52 bombers:

"Bound for targets deep inside Iraq, these aircrafts had just commenced what would become the longest employ-deploy strike mission in history, up to this time."
What is the meaning of "employ-deploy"?

    Thank you
