    off the main thoroughfare

    Hi,
I don't know the position of the motel. Where is it? on the road or at the end of the road?
"The motel was off the main thoroughfare."
    Thank you.

"Off the main thoroughfare." means not on the main road but on a side road possibly adjoining the main road.
