(In a radio program I heard a friend of his that's why I'm asking because I think it's incorect!)
thanks in advance
I can't get it!!
Can you tell me please why His is correct? Why not Him?
I'm looking forward to mre clarifications.
thanks a lot.
Can you tell mine why HIS is correct? Why not HIM?
They are possessive pronouns, somehow they are related to possession, look:
I'm gonna tell HIM you are not ready.
'HIM' would be replaced by any name, like John.
I'm gonna tell John you are not ready.
You should love HER for teaching you Math.
You shoul love Tina for teaching you Math.
I'm gonna hit HIS car with my bike.
'HIS' would be replaced by any name with the possessive 's.
I'm gonna hit John's car with my bike.
That jacket belongs to HER cousin.
That jacket belongs to Tina's cousin.
I'm a friend of HIS = I'm a frind of John's.
You're a friend of HERS = You're a friend of Tina's.
Hope this helps.
