    What is my mistake

    Hi,

I wrote the following paragraph, I would like you to tell me if there is any mistake in it:

"The author sincerely thanks the organizing committee for the friendly
atmosphere and the financial support. In addition, the author is truly grateful to her close young friend, Jan Anne, for the meaningful encouragement and the fruitful discussions on this paper. In particular, the author would like to consider this result as one more small gift for his father on the occasion of
his 85th birthday when she cannot be behind her."

Your comments and suggestions are welcome, just to make the paragraph more professional.

    Thank you very much.

    Re: What is my mistake

Hi,I hope you are fine I think your writing is correct there are no spelling mistakes but there is one point: at first you've said the author is truly grateful to her friend then you've said it's ...gift to his father .....when she cannot be behind her.
the author is a woman so you should say: to her father.
the father is a man so you should say :behind him.
    take care.

You still seem confused about gender and pronouns.

    Male >> he/him/his

    Female >> she/her/hers
