    Question on puncuation

    Would the following sentences end with a period or an exclamation point (or are both acceptable)?

    That movie was really scary.
    Look at the size of that cat!

    I think it depends on whether you want the sentences to be read as words which were or weren't exclaimed.

    Both sentences could be said in a calm, matter of fact manner - but they could also be expressed in an excitable, emotional way.

    How do you want the reader to interpret the information?
