    Smile saddle up

In the text below, what does "saddle up" mean?

The exercise is terminated, Ms. Gold. We've received the call from Director Osborn. Saddle up. We're going to New York.

Cowboys used to saddle up before setting out on a journey - they put the saddles on their horses ready to ride out.

So, saddle up just means get ready to travel.
An alternative would be " Pack your bags".
