    I have a doubt

    Why do we use FLiES in the 3rd person of singular and with the verb PLAY we donīt change the Y for ies in the 3rd person of singular in the verb?

    If the letter Y comes aft6er a consonant (try-tries/fly-flies) we change it, but if it comes after a vowel we leave it (play-plays/buy-buys).
