    less traffic

    Hi,
Could you please tell me if the sentence is correct.
"I prefer living in the country since it is not only quiet but also less traffic."
    Thanks.

    Re: less traffic

    Hi Bhaisahab.
Please tell me why we have to add "there is" into the sentence.
Both "quiet" and "traffic" are nouns. Why can't they be in the structure " not only ... but also ... "
    Please help. Thanks.

In this sentence 'quiet' is an adjective, if it were a noun you would have to say 'there is quiet', in the same way 'traffic' is, as you say, a noun and needs 'there is'.
